Limei Li is an Audit Manager in the Internal Audit Centre with the Government of Nova Scotia. Prior to joining the Government, she has worked in education, national retail sector, and public accounting. She is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA).
Limei has worked in internal audit for over eight years conducting operational performance reviews (3E’s), audits, consulting and advisory services. With the help of her diverse knowledge and experience in statistics, economics, education, accounting, and lean six sigma, Limei has a keen interest in analyzing data and streamlining processes to improve processes’ quality and efficiency. Limei put these skills into play as the team lead in designing, formalizing and implementing Internal Audit Centre’s QAIP Program which has efficiently embedded quality control, continuous improvement, and communication of the Program with the Audit Committee into the framework. The Program has been recognized by distinguished IIA professionals as the best practice during the Centre’s Self-Assessment-Independent-Validation evaluation in 2019, for its structured approach, engaging all staff involvement, comprehensiveness in reviewed areas, and the efficiency by using developed toolkits.
Limei is a recipient of the Award of Excellence from Government Internal Auditors Council of Canada (GIACC) in 2016 for her outstanding contribution in leading GIACC’s performance indicators data analysis.
